  2022-01-06

Hair loss in women is polygenic and multifactorial with the additional influence of environmental factors. Several studies focused on the importance of several genes related to alopecia (Carey et al., 1993, Hillmer et al., 2008, Randall, 2008). FPHL involves progressive hair follicle miniaturization

Discussion The GlyR is responsible for mediating much of the neuronal inhibition in the brainstem and spinal cord, although these receptors are also found in a number of higher brain regions (Baer et al., 2009, Jonsson et al., 2012, Jonsson et al., 2009, Lynch, 2004). 2022-01-06

Cell origin The ontogeny of astrocytes in vitro has been investigated in detail; Raff et al. (1983) characterised two types of astrocytes: type 1 being fibroblast-like in morphology and poorly labelled with a monoclonal antibody (AB25), whereas type 2 exhibited oligodendrocyte or neuron-like morp

  2022-01-06

Here we studied the effects of BZ flurazepam (FZ) at high doses in acute and chronic settings of tolerance and dependence in GluR-A−/− mice (Zamanillo et al., 1999). We used measurements in which the phenomenon of “learning while intoxicated” should play only a minor role in order to find out the si

  2022-01-06

Cartilage and subchondral bone/synovial tissue interactions are well-recognized features of joint failure and osteoarthritis[17](seeFig. 1A, B). The intimate mechanical and biological interactions between these tissues are likely to alter the structural organization and function of either tissue. Ho

  2022-01-06

Hypertriglyceridemia is associated with an overproduction and secretion of triglyceride-rich lipoproteins (TRLs), due to increased liver lipid substrate availability (Adiels et al., 2005, Choi and Ginsberg, 2011), and/or reduced catabolism of TRLs and their remnants, due to reduced lipoprotein lipas

Furthermore, our results are the first to demonstrate that the stimulating effect of GALP on AVP release in rats is independent of galanin receptors. The same stimulatory GALP influence on AVP secretion has been also observed in the presence of galantide, an antagonist of Gal receptors in the incuba

  2022-01-06

In the thoracic spinal cord, neither glacial acetic regulator of g protein signaling nor HBO2 had an effect on nNOS expression or expression of the phosphorylated β3 subunit of the GABAA receptor. This result was not unexpected due to the preponderance of nociceptive signaling in the lumbar versus

Not only has the cortical dna methyltransferase network been found to influence plasma membrane properties but also to interact with exo- and endocytic vesicles (Gormal et al., 2015, Tomatis et al., 2013). The interplay between actin and membranes is integrally regulated by the phosphoinositide com
